In 2022, I attended my first major exhibition of Joan Mitchell's paintings, captivated by her frequent use of multi-panel compositions called diptychs and triptychs. This experience inspired me, leading to a newfound appreciation for the intricacies of multi-panel compositions in art.
Since then, I've integrated Mitchell's techniques into my own creative process, exploring spatial relationships and narrative continuity. This exploration has pushed the boundaries of my creativity, opening up new directions in my work.
One significant lesson learned from Mitchell's art is the transformative potential of pairing paintings to create a cohesive dialogue. Drawing from this insight, my recent series, Ethereal One and Two, seeks to emulate the harmonious synergy found in Mitchell's work, enriching both the viewer's experience and my artistic expression.
